I feel a lump that feels like i pinky in between 2 ropes in my what could it be?

in my left there is a lump about the size of my pinkie tip and it isnt so much as painful as it is uncomfortable to think it could be something more severe. my mother died at the age of 32 of cancer and i am supposed to have regular check ups but i dont have any medical...what can i do to find out what is wrong if it COULD be cancer or who i can talk to.
