1972 chevy k20 with 02 crate engine.?

with edelbrock 650 cfm carb and edelbrock intake performer series... would a holley 4 barrel 650 be to much for my engine. pretty much stock and would i notice and difference in anything... what would the pro's and con's be of this. what the ups and downs of both the carburetors. how big can i go. truck has hei with accel supercoil. i love torque so with that in mind. please base answers on that
